When I know what the character should say but can't figure out how they would say it...

This is usually when I decide I'm too tired to write and go to bed but I sure did have a ton of caffeine

I know this problem.

I find it worse when I write a whole tag, though, only to realize the character WOULDN'T say that

I HATE THAT it's the worst with Lark because he thinks a lot of things he wouldn't say and when I'm tired it becomes a stream of conscious mess

I have the opposite problem which is 'I know how they'd say it but is this just me trying to work out how to articulate my own opinion in their voice'

I' m so glad Iris often just says whatever comes into her head

even when I have no idea what she's going to say I can often just plug her in and let her go
