236 bees
you know the more i do things with immortals the more i think their grasp on time would be loose
236 bees
like me, when i was younger: this character is 1235 years old, they know this
236 bees
me, now: this character is like 1200 maybe? older than 1000. who keeps track at that point.
236 bees
and like it's a semi common thing in stories that involve both immortals and also time travel to have like
236 bees
immortal show up at the very moment time traveler is gonna arrive at this specific spot, 1000 years later
236 bees
and i'm here like
236 bees
man people can't even make it to the dentist they planned a week ago on time
236 bees
what kind of obsessive attention to detail are you gonna need to pull that off when the calendar systems being used aren't even the same anymore
236 bees
i know it's used to neatly wrap things up and all but i think it's potentially better and funnier if the time traveler shows up and the immortal isn't there and there is Concern about it or whatever and it turns out that no, they'd just calculated out a date 3 months later or something
236 bees
if it's even that close
E.S. Levi
Yeah, when I have Alastor give his age, he barely remembers to the decade. Usually just gives to the century.
236 bees
yeah if you have a character who measures centuries like years then like
236 bees
why would they know down to the year
236 bees
how many people do you know who even know off the top of their head how many months old they are, let alone days
E.S. Levi
Years are miniscule.
236 bees
or even just the immortal fullscale forgot the meeting or got really distracted with something they'd been working on for the past decade that was finally happening and they get found eventually like "oh"
236 bees
"hey"
236 bees
"........... WAIT"
