A beetle, I think, who was from a real low class neighborhood full of gangs and drugs and shit, who got together with a partner in crime (ideally another party member) to try and pretend to be a noble and their bodyguard and con the rich into accepting them
yeah the general thing is - mantises had a treaty but that was very much a "we won't fuck with you directly but your ass is grass if you fuck up in our territory" thing - deepnest was like it's good as long as we say it is - greenpath had very firm boundaries - there was definitely immigration from the world beyond, because ze'mer is foreign
- whatever the fuck steel soul jinn is - wherever the fuck the godseekers came from is a literal godless land, which implies a land can be either ditched by its gods, or can have its gods die out without replacement
it's safe to assume that depending on the scope of campaign there's like a ton of other civilisations out in the wilderness despite PK saying NO, NOTHING EXISTS OUT THERE, DONT LOOK AT IT, DONT MAKE EYE CONTACT
so it's pretty flexible and it's entirely realistic to say that hallownest's trade agreements stretched beyond what we see in the game (since it is busted as shit) and make up more cultural groups/towns/etc to play with as needed
i concepted the idea of like, a civilisation that just lives on the back of a gigantic moth-god and protects it when it lands to feed and rest, in exchange for similar protection from intruders and also having a flying home base that can just fly away if it's had enough, so if you can find any use for that you can have it

Caps and shells may fall to dust,
But Mr Mushroom readjusts...
