I feel this as another trans person. I actually played one of the characters I wanted to as trans in a game, but it was a memloss/au game so it kinda had more leeway than others.... but it was cool.

i would say dwrp at large wouldn't be super receptive to a trans headcanon for a character who has given no canon indication of it, BUT, if you're up front about how that's something you're including in your version, people can just opt out of tagging you if that's their pref and it should be fine

i would also suggest you ask on a faq if a headcanon on that level would be okay to incorporate, because i think some mods would consider it too big a deviation from canon with no "evidence" of it. but some wouldn't!

I was actually talking to Alba once about this topic and my theory on it is that for DWRP in general, it tends to come down to a question of how far out you have to extrapolate to justify whatever it is you're trying to justify in a particular interpretation

Like, for example, "due to X, Y, and Z traits in character's canon backstory, I interpret them as ABC" is usually pretty solid because you're pointing directly to canon qualities for your support
