I have a crackpot theory that Nellie->Pauline->Maria are somehow related to or parallel to Giselle’s character progression but 1. it might just be the writer’s taste 2. that’s a very alarming thought for a number of reasons.

ok this one is not a theory bc I think there is pretty solid evidence against it but I think it would be really cute if Mell-Nellie Yukimasa-Pauline Jacopo-Maria were all Michel-Giselle reincarnations.
