I quite like Andrew Davies’ Sanditon adaptation. Although the ending is not typical Jane Austen, it feels realistic and therefore moving.

Davies created interesting characters. He was also good at subverting expectation. Since the original was an unfinished story, TV company could turn it into as many episodes as they liked.Too bad they decided not to renew it after 8 episodes.
