Onigashima
[valor] recalling a brilliantly stupid plot beat in an old, old playtest campaign from before the game launched
Onigashima
The party was caught in a war between two fantasy kingdoms
Onigashima
Kingdom A attacked the party, beat them, and forcibly conscripted them into the A Army
Onigashima
And then loaded all of them into cannons to fire at the Kingdom B airship fleet
Onigashima
we weren't really feeling it so as soon as we hit the Kingdom B ships we were like "listen we don't really work for these guys, we were just--"
Onigashima
B: "Oh shit! We're being attacked by A forces!"
Onigashima
"Hurry! Capture them and load them into the cannons to fire back at A!"
Onigashima
at which point we decided the whole situation was too stupid to engage with and stole the airship
Onigashima
just the idea of an entire war fought by soldiers trying to capture each other and fire the captured soldiers out of cannons at each other

I cannot possibly be the only one reading this plurk and thinking of homer simpson in a submarine
Onigashima
not ringing a bell
Rama
I missed this one and am deeply sad I did so
Onigashima
this was pre-plurk
Onigashima
there was also an extended reference to Golden Sun where a sentient space rock told us we had to visit the four elemental lighthouses and as soon as we were out of earshot we just all decided we weren't gonna bother

ha
Rama
If I remember Golden Sun correctly that would have solved a lot of problems, actually
moontouched
well, the world would have crumbled
moontouched
but it wouldn't be your problem
Wild Child
this sounds like excellent comedy
