I haven't been paying much attention since I'm at work, so at this point the weirdest take on the impeachment thing has come from a rando on Twitter

We literally have an entire branch of government empowered to do that exact thing

like I would love to know why this person thinks constitutional questions go before the Supreme Court

sure they can't just interpret it whenever they want, but they're there for that reason

that requires an assuming that that person thinks

Though apparently one of the more head scratching absurdities to come up is that one of Trump's lawyers rambled incoherently for a while and admitted that he had to come up with a new argument on the fly because the impeachment managers from the House were so good with theirs

Like in a sane world this would be sending up the same kind of red flags as you being on trial for murder and your defense attorney goes up and says "boy, the state made a hell of an argument there, I'm not sure how to respond. I mean that blew all my planning out of the water, they've made an excellent case."

this same idiot also argued that "High crimes and misdemeanors" means felonies and criminal misdemeanors, respectively.

They do not.

It's hard to say they have any firm, universal definition, but that's definitely not what they mean
