Still, that's a hell of a lot of implications if Salem is using silver eye people to make super Grimm. Does that mean the power of silver eyes can be corrupted?

I still think Salem was doing something in volume 7 when she made Ruby crack. She's talked about Summer before without breaking down so it seems Salem has some understanding of how to exploit or undermine silver eyes.

And considering how powerful they've turned out to be I think it's suitable that it comes with some kind of weakness

And while the Summer Is Hound theory is down the tubes that does not negate the possibility of her being the next super Grimm

They do mention in volume 7 commentary that she kind of corrupted that memory of summer.

whether that was larger foreshadowing is anyone's guess
