[Disney+] I've been watching/rewatching the reboot of DuckTales while I work, and this show really has no right to be as good as it is.

I know I've seen all of season 1 when it aired/close to when it aired, but I can't remember if I've seen season 2 (I'll figure this out when I start it today)

but it combines the parts of what made the og DuckTales work, has giving loving nods to at least half a dozen other Disney Afternoon properties, yet modernizing it without making it feel instantly dated either

also just making an abundance of badass ladies wherever they can

I feel like they could make a cartoon remake scale "From DuckTales to Powerpuff Girls, how well was [x] rebooted?"

I also might be a sucker for Tennant's Scrooge

I didn't notice it the first time, but when Scrooge meets the triplets, he goes "Huey, Louie... the third one" because he doesn't know them at all, but at the end of the first season, after they get torn apart and comes back together, he repeats the same line as a joke to show how far they've come and I got fucking emotional

One of the things that I love is that they made each of the triplets their own character. And each season so far has given one of them an arc and it’s fucking beautiful

The voice cast is also absolutely top notch. Not just tenant but everyone is just so solidly voiced.

I also love the way the episodes all build on each other, but not in a way that you have to see every episode to follow the show

like, one episode introduced the ghost butler, then you never seem to see him again, but someone casually brings him up in conversation

But the villains themselves all have arcs. They turned freaking Flintheart Glomgold into an actual character that’s more than ‘another Scottish billionaire’ and then they go and give them all just top notch voice acting and direction
