beken : not sure...Music/iTunes was attached to a different music library than usual when I first synced. Things didn't work when I tried to sync to my normal music library. I think i resolved the problem by reauthorizing the computer.

Oh good. Recently, the music app went through my music library and rated all my music when I had purposely deleted the ratings.
