I think the purple is the 'weakened' barrier the monsters slip through, like, you can see something like a brick wall pattern like the one on the Inner Barrier through it

my theory about this page is that it’s v much a You Cannot Grasp The Form Of This, or possibly that we can’t see this bc the comic is filtered through anemone telling it to us?
anemone is the only character on the cast page that uses “i”, in that her blurb directly makes the comment of “maybe one day i’ll be in this stupid comic”
