Granted, most of it died down once people realized there wasn't much more to his character than a hot, young space Nazi who was basically a younger version of Grand Moff Tarkin, but still. For a while there I saw a lot of stuff relating to his character all over the place. Honestly, I think the fact he was killed off so abruptly was also a bit of a shame.

Like everything else in that series, they built him up and then did nothing with him. I thought the whole "Puppet emperor Force user wannabe" thing they were doing to do with him in Duel of the Fates where he commits seppuku with a purple lightsaber when he realizes the First Order has lost sounded like it had a lot more potential.

Granted, that whole script was a bit of a hot mess in general, but there were some good things in it.

Interesting how the EU fleshed him out but still. Fandom was obsessed with him long before this stuff came out. Also I do love this vid though and how it shows his character motivations.
