To everyone that said that I should just "let oldest go to school where she belongs", she just made the honor roll.

I do not grade her work, it is an online program that I have to be heavily involved in coaching.

but I do not grade

also the whole reason I have kept her home and away from her peers is the virus and the fact that her little brother who she adores could die if he gets it. He's severely immunocompromised, and he basically was in the hospital for two months, from the time he was two months old til the time he was four months old.

He was on hospice services until he was almost two (they discharged in February, the pandemic hit everyone mid March)

so he is kind of this precious thing for a while longer.

but idk to all of you naysayers, in your faces.

(none of them were here, but where I live no one took the virus seriously, and they still dont)

I can't believe anyone would tell you to let your child go to school in the middle of a pandemic if you can keep them home and judge you for keeping them home.

yeah people around here are kinda judgey and then I was like well, that's the pediatricians reccommendation.

and I don't care if you think I'm living in fear when that's the recommendation, just following medical professionals orders.

but at the same time, I can rub it in.

DO IT rub it in their faces. Because when people tell me I'm living in fear i tell them NO, I'm thinking about someone other than myself who could die from a disease I can stop.

My coworker made the comment that a customer was being overly cautious because he wears a mask in his own car, doesn't get out, just opens the trunk to let us put the pizza in the back for him. I told her i wear my mask in my car. There is no such thing as being overly cautious right now.

And it's not living in fear to do the right thing. You're doing a great job!!!
