Before bed, Merrill and Rufio ate around the same time

This morning they both vomited around the same time

Assuming the food had gone off, I bought more to be delivered. It came, we offered it to them

New food, new brand, I didn't expect it to be well liked but Merrill is very against it

Rufio, on the other hand, enjoyed it!

And then 10 min later he vomited it back with an added bonus of BLOOD this time

Messaged the vet as a "No appointment but we're coming anyway"

This vet is pretty great and had no trouble letting me come charging in more or less uninvited and handing him Rufio

Every time an injection has been given the vet always reassures me that it won't hurt they won't feel it don't worry

This time he was like It will really really really hurt, I'm calling in back up to hold him down

They put a cone on him and essentially braced him down. He did squirm and he did try to break free but it was over fast enough that no one was injured

So they gave him, rough translation here, a "stomach enzyme" to help him keep food down and he needs 24 hours of close monitoring

In conclusion, it was basically cat equivalent of food poisoning and I am extremely upset

Home now and neither cat has eaten since. I'm hoping they change their minds sooner than later

Rufio was so good at the vet

He kept trying to cuddle next to me and the vet said "Oh, he must really trust you"
