i was doing some thinking about the villain / villain-turned-antihero of the original stories

the original serial comic books had a villain named, i think, Catgirl, because i guess i couldnt think of anything better than the old "cats vs dogs" trope

so i'm assuming the new version of the story will be going in that direction as well

the reboot version of this character, i have decided, is named Flannel, superhero name "Hexbolt"

i dont recall the original version of this character having many specific superpowers, except for some reason having a huge army of robots that was never explained???

so Hexbolt's power set is that they are basically a super-engineer

mild psychic/telekinetic abilities and can design/build machines and robots like NOBODY'S business

whereas Rocket's abilities are more like a boilerplate superman-like deal

i might go into my thoughts on how they GOT these powers later, but not right now i think

anyways i tried designing a logo for Hexbolt and i wound up designing two different ones

the first one's really stylish and minimalistic, which i like, and ive been toying around with the idea that Hexbolt might have some mild electrokinetic abilities as well

the downside of version 1 is that Rocket's logo also incorporates a lightning bolt motif so it might seem a bit samey

i think 1 is very stylish but you're absolutely right that both of them having thunderbolt logos is a bit of a problem

if you want to go 1, then either crank up her/them(pronouns?) having electricity powers and change superdog's logo to get rid of his lightning bolt, or make the thunderbolt a motif for the hero team

(if you make it a team motif, you could have hexbolt start with logo 2 and then they change to logo 1 when they switch sides)

but i actually really like 2! it's subtler, yes, but something i like is that like

you mentioned hexbolt has like robotics powers (oversimplifying), and the way that h design is done looks like interlocking pieces or plates, such as one might have in or on some sort of built structure, like perhaps a robot

you could also stylize it further and make the h into a circuit board design, but idk if that would be even a little bit translatable into pixel art

anyway i don't think you're losing anything if you go with 2, but since it sounded like you liked 1 i also tossed out some ideas around that, as usual feel free to take or leave anything i say
