since Darin is depowered, his familiar is going to be housing the consciousness of Diomuhr, though neither of them actually know that. And since Verunta are beetle/scarab like
now, the initial reasoning for this is because he's stupid and spent his life with super strength being able to shrug off almost any minor wound thanks to his healing abilities
but my 5D chess brain is already planning for him to use strength augmentation and most of his buffing spells rather than healing to turn him into dumb tank
I can't wait to have Darin be a coffee guzzling shaking mess a month into the game because he thinks he's sleep cursed and is afraid he's going to sleep walk into a fucking river and drown
