honestly when you get more comfortable w the game you will stop picking the map carryover bc having to re-explore the map becomes WAY less daunting and you will care much more abt getting the fragments/secrets for rediscovering places on a new map

YEAH the unterzee occasionally undergoes an in-universe "alteration" (which in game mechanics is just. tiles shuffle around bc it's a roguelike) so that's why taking that inheritance is good until you're familiar with the whole map
the top & right hand edges of the map are generally reliable even after alterations, the middle tiles always piss me off hgldfkhg me sailing in circles for ages like WHERE THE FUCK DID STATION III GO
tiles of the same colour are ones that can swap, all the uncoloured ones around the edges are fixed position
