[ACNH] Me: time to try for a stringfish, I have 30 helpings of bait, if not I'll try again tomorrow
my third attempt:

NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING but when they were last around I spent literal hours trying to catch one and never had any luck

I only have 9 species left I need to catch... I already time traveled today, might as well go for broke

I'll at least try for a barreleye, I want one of those clearheads in my museum

barreleye was a goddamn pain

Fish I still need: King Salmon, Gar, Arapaima, Blowfish, Moray Eel, Giant Trevally, Mahi-Mahi, Whale Shark, and Barreleye

Yeah, it's another one I've spent literal hours trying to catch

I don't time travel often but if it doesn't appear til after 9 PM I'll indulge

I feel like I got super lucky catching some of these

Either that or my island has good spawn rates

For my part, I did slack off catching the seasonal ones for a while

Well like the barrel eye I got pretty quickly without even really trying for it

... also hey, it turns out the barreleye has a small shadow. I had it in my head that it had a large one so I've been ignoring the small ones

/canned laughter/ SILLY ME, maybe that's why I had such bad luck!

Still no luck with the barreleye, I give up for the night. Plus side is I keep making and breaking flimsy fishing rods and inch ever so slowly toward the Nook Miles achievement for crafting tools.
