just had a big fight with Yahoo to try and gain remote (download rather than online) access to my emails now that they're stopping forwarding.
sef_lopod
they make it stupidly hard to find the correct information.
sef_lopod
had to search outside of Yahoo (ie Google) in order to get reference articles which were also outside of Yahoo to tell me what the POP3/SMTP and additional security settings were.

and now it's sending stuff (eg my test email) to me in duplicate - because they presumably haven't shut forwarding off yet after all.

Google is a lot like that too. Being able to use a mail client with Google is a right pain, and they have wording which is factually incorrect (and they know it). Lots of dark patterns out there.

not been attempting to access Google mail from a mail client but may have to do so eventually.
