My dryer has been semi-broken for... just about two years, now? It only does tumble dry, anything else smells like burning.

And I have FINALLY ordered the part that is most likely to fix that.

Fingers crossed I don't electrocute myself or burn down anything while making the repair.

I was able to rebalance the dryer after the belt got off-kilter and I have multiple youTube videos on how best to swap out a heating element in a dryer.

So here is hoping my internet-based mechanic skills pay off!

Thank you! And it really is. Having to time my laundry according to when I have time to hang everything to dry is... limiting. And yet, my lazy ass is only now taking steps to fix it.

Because getting that dryer away from the wall is a paaaain

Oh man moving washers and dryers is ANNOYING and if you have a work around i can see it falling down the priority list

I SHOULD have had the part ordered before moving places last year so I could put the part in before the dryer was shoved into it's cubby hole. But. MOVING CHAOS. It didn't even occur to me until after.

at least you're doing it now! we did the no dryer thing for a few weeks and I was basically shoving money at my roommate going "you said you were going to, please buy NOW" because how do you wash winter coats or bedding if the dryer is out

Dealing with bedding is EXACTLY how I got my dryer into this situation in the first place. >.>

(Remember, kids! Stuffing a faux down comforter into a dryer is... not guaranteed to work out.)

BUT YES. So many things that really do work better WITH a working dryer
