Fuck's sake, I should really, really know better than to express sympathy sometimes.

Somebody came into the chat that I'm modding, obviously having a bit of a bad day. So I expressed sympathy. They said something about expecting it because they're a bad person and I said that I doubted that...

And then I get a whisper that basically starts detailing ALL the problems they've had.

I had something like that happen, except that i was commiserating and the person goes, "sorry but if you don't mind i was just wanting to rant"

I've had that happen, too.
