Jeffery Katzeburg had the movie test screened for some kids and found them to be maybe a bit restless during it

And basically everyone, including the directors, howard ashman, and glen keane to come up to him and tell him he was stupid

and hold off until the movie was closer to finished and the reception was more obviously positive

this is also the man who single-handedly destroyed the final cut of the black cauldron so I'm not surprised

katzenburg was also like. just generally down on TLM in general

saying that it wouldn't be a huge hit like oliver and company

it was a girls film after all

katzenburg does seem like someone who doesn't love girl protags

ah yes. oliver and company. clearly the superior film.
