in the US we have "freedom of religion" but i've read that in france the attitude is more like "freedom from religion" and they use that to justify a lot of islamophobic shit because muslims have many customs that make their religious affiliations obvious
I mean europe in general is real bad with the racism (while pretending we're So Much Better Than The US (we're not)) but France is going for a medal in islamophobia
