YEP it's pretty ridiculous all around. I couldn't justify playing it myself either and I was especially relieved I didn't when I realized that the first half of the cutscenes were literally just a recap
Also it continues to be hilarious that people keep telling Kairi she needs to train more when she's already much better than either of the other two were when they got shoved into adventures without any warning

Ugh, yeah. :C I mean, I'm assuming since she lived in TT for so long and was part of that whole storyline that's probably where she is, since you'd think they'd HAVE to address her if she was hanging around RG

It's just nuts, right? Even if they wanted to nerf her somehow or just not use her powers gratuitously to fix the plot, there are plenty of ways to involve her without her just being a quickfix. They could have at least mentioned her advising them or something, just so she's not completely shut out of a part of the plot in which she would be
It'd be one thing if none of them knew enough about her powers, but the former Org guys AND Ansem are all right there so unless they completely forgot everything that doesn't jive either

HONESTLY YEAH. Should she be fighting old masters? Probably not, but neither should the other two. Could she fight some Heartless and help a ton regardless and get the much-needed experience to improve beyond her training? Definitely
It kind of felt like that scene got written in a bubble or something, like everyone's backstories were just sort of irrelevant and got replaced with 'generic scientist'

I'd really like some clarification on Castle Oblivion in general tbh, like how much of all of that was related to Namine's powers, how much was the world itself and how much was the Organization's doing
