A fast-paced, horror-adjacent, panfandom RPG, the Center focuses on character growth and relationships. Each month, Participants undergo three Experiences, all aimed at helping them "improve" themselves around a certain value that the Center deems necessary to personal growth.
Characters are told they chose to be there. That they're here to better themselves. With Experiences happening to everyone, all the time, there is always something to bond over. Misery loves company, as they say.
➞ Medium to fast paced game ➞ Medium, but simple, AC requirements ➞ 50 character cap, with potential to grow ➞ Closed, simple setting ➞ Little overhead to jump into the game ➞ Gameplay focused on events and relationship building
can I recommend an adjustment for your ac posting? Instead of a character toplevel perhaps a player toplevel with subthreads for their characters? It'll tidy things up if you wind up with folks with more than one character or a case of a character being dropped/picked up by someone new
Hey! Thanks for the question. DnD, MMOs, etc are allowed. Fandom OCs like a long lost cousin of a protag in a series are not. We'll clarify this in the rules

great idea! we're still getting a few of our codes ironed out but this is definitely top of the list. Eventually every page will have a linkback to the main nav.
And thank you to everyone who's asked us questions and been so excited so far; we've been chipping away at this game for a while and we really appreciate it!
when copying out the application form into gdocs or a comment or somesuch, it just pastes as a big single paragraph with no line breaks. was that intentional?
also, weird question, but if there's no... canonical way for a character to be admitted into this center, could a slight AU be made to make it possible? (like, say, a character on the run turning himself in to someone who sends him here to "recover")
There doesn't have to be a reason! While characters are told that they volunteered for this, it's not necessarily true. They don't remember doing it. When they wake up in the Center, it's a "woke up like this" moment, where they were in canon one moment, and in the Center the next.
No, this IC app would be filled out in that in-between time. This game is lore-light so there isn't a huge backstory, but it would be as if they lost the time when this happened, is how I've been imagining it.
it's just hard to fill out for a character who doesn't know much about himself, and is very... taciturn. (I usually play Bucky Barnes, from directly after the helicarrier fight, ahaha...)
That is fair! There is some suspension of belief here, like having characters be that open if they aren't usually that way. Does it help to try and fill it out as if he were journaling? Digging into his deepest, perhaps most buried part of himself?
Yes, you can definitely assume that there are some, ah, encouragements involved. Truth serum is what we've been calling it, but I've also been imagining my character in a different mental state when doing it. We'll take this away and see what we can do about framing to see if that helps!
generally the point I play him at is "doesn't think of himself as a person and doesn't think there's anything to dig for" but I can probably play with it as some kind of... after-action report, hmm
no it's an awesome format, it may or may not just work for this particular character at this particular point XD (I have other options... this is just the one I can most reliably keep up with in a moderate-paced game :B )
(oh god playing writing this out, and he keeps going "this is only 37 words. what else can I say. it is a straight-forward answer." like ICly. it's kind of adorable, actually)
