I would be thrilled if Gaunt just pissed off all Rawne's friends

because Gaunt comes from around the same time as Rawne arrived at the Barge, so he's very suspicious of Rawne, still

Gaunt is pissing Norton off so much that he's seriously considering trying to murder him. Disdainful authority figures bother him.

(Also he's seen enough of Andy's posts on the network to know that Andy's totally blowing his "innocent and helpless" performance, and he's annoyed by that as well and a bit "fuck it, guess i might as well murder someone now")
