The second bedroom that I didn’t get is like a phantom limb; I keep expecting it to be there. I keep moving stuff around in my head, trying to figure out how this is going to work, especially with winter on its way

I think I’ll do the move in two stages.
Stage 1. Hire a truck, fill it with items I’ll need immediately (furniture, clothes, kitchen stuff), deliver in December
Stage 2. Fill the storage pod with everything else, leave in storage until the weather is better (perhaps spring).

I’ve been getting bogged down trying to decide what to give to charity.

Sounds like a good plan.

heylis-elf : It’s a little less overwhelming this way. I have to finish packing the cube in a little more than 2 weeks

Maybe I’ll just put stuff in the pod that I can carry myself, just in case I don’t have volunteers in the spring.

After I measure the apartment next week I’ll have a better idea what furniture I can take with me.
