it's really interesting in how it hops inbetween the isekai world and the characters' world... and the "game mechanic" aspect, which includes respawning from death. plus how they solve various problems they're given
OH and the dragon, the hero, and the courier, which is about the life of a civil servant in a medieval fantasy city as written by an actual medieval european studies nerd who overthinks things
this one is also very good. it's isekai where two sisters' house gets transported into another world, and one becomes the priestess and the other spends time cooking stuff
it's about a party whose healer gets eaten by a dragon, so they go back for her despite everyone's better judgment and they meet this weird dwarf who's been living in the dungeon and eating monsters
A secret experiment shoulder dies, and gets put int the body of a woman in another world, and a lot of it is her figuring out how she wants to use her soldier skills and learning to protect people she actually cares about, and political drama
Another villainness isekai, with the interesting bit being that the protag can see "likeability" points in the capture targets.... and, as she's started out on the alt villainness route, they're all super low, and she'll die if they get lower
smacks down Dungeon Nursery aka an absolute bastard of a capitalist has to go on a dungeon adventure in order to go to heaven, and he becomes a summoner to do so, except "summoner" just means "congrats you're a dad now"
additionally, I'm also super into the bookworm series, although the fantasy aspects are very subtle and slow to creep in which is honestly kind of neat
Also I am obligated to recommend “Who Made Me A Princess?” since it’s where I got Beast’s PB from and also Super Fucking Good if you can get down with more shoujo-y isekai
Unfortunately it’s a little more scattered upload wise; like it’s officially on tappytoon but fuck tappytoon and the main English scanlation group only started putting it on mangadex after chapter 47? I forget where I even read the first batch of chapters before I just joined the scanlator’s discord server and got direct links and passwords and shit
This is a neat isekai because the body of the main character has dormant memories, and the MC is just trying to figure out how to not fucking die, which those memories (taken from the original life/timeline/whatever) are key to it
This one is a little ecchi in some aspects, but honestly it's also been amusing me, while having some sweet/heartwarming moments I like. dwarves and elves just got introduced in recent chapters
I would switch to mangadex after the 47 mark though bc this place puts a noticeable space between images which you don’t want for a webtoon style thing nvm batoto is better (but also mangadex is where the scanlators throw up the new ones themselves so it’s more up to date - also their commentary is more fun)
on mobile rn but go look up It's My Life. Incredibly cute fantasy slice of life following the retired captain of the royal guard, who is actually a supreme dork who just wanted his own house. (Relatable.) Everyone's a supreme dork actually, and there's a serious underlying plot on an extremely slow burn in the background too.
They're both technically isekai? Iruma-kun is about a kid whose parents sell him to a devil... who really just wanted a grandson to dote on. Iruma proceeds to get sent to demon school and has to survive it without anyone realizing he's a human, huge cast of amazing dorks ensues
The other one is a standard-ish isekai, just one that's decided it's not taking anything seriously and has a very tongue-in-cheek dumb 90s anime jokes vibe. Gender bending involved. Eh, I'm entertained.
hard to describe what makes it so good without a bit too much spoilers but it's been a fave since I started reading it. Almost a classic isekai, almost.
oh wait good this place has most of itnvm I found a better one I forgot aboutbc this place puts a noticeable space between images which you don’t want for a webtoon style thingnvm batoto is better (but also mangadex is where the scanlators throw up the new ones themselves so it’s more up to date - also their commentary is more fun)rinse and repeat
