[books] I just finished listening to The Return by Rachel Harrison and frankly i'm never going to sleep again

it's a horror novel wearing a chicklit novel's skin

the premise is nice and fluffy: a couple of old college buddies go to a fancy hotel in the catskills to reconnect~!

except the reason for the reconnecting is because one of them had disappeared without a trace in the mountains and was assumed dead for two years until she just mysteriously reappeared once day like nothing happened

honestly now i'm curious

it was really good

lots of ~female friendship~ while things start to Get Real and never stop Getting Real

honestly i'm starting to think that Something Bad Happened In The Woods is my favorite subgenre of horror
