it's all just nanomachines and programmable energy fields, which are different from magic in some obtuse way that they're bad at explaining

"magic does not exist" is both objectively true and also so absurdly stupid that it's nonsense

"Magic isn't real" is kind of a tautology

Because as soon as something is verified as real, it ceases to be magic

she just clings to it because she needs some part of her old life to be connected to some part of her new life

even something as vague as the laws of physics

Ibis: "There are millions of tiny machines in your body that do this stuff for you"
Robin: "Who made them?"
Ibis: "They made each other"
Robin; "Sounds like magic"
