i NEVER rec the 2009 movie to newbies bc it is so NOT star trek in style and tone that it'll give them the absolute wrong impression of the franchise imo

yeah honestly tos movies 2-4 + 6 are very solid and hold up well, alternately tos has a ton of very good stand alone eps
