my professor explained his career path towards being a composition/logic professor as

"I broke my leg kicking over my shitty uncle's ashes during his funeral and had to take a month off school. Every day of that month I watched The Gods Must Be Crazy 1 and 2 and ate a pound of shrimp, and I figured becoming a mad psychologist would be the best way to replicate that experience."

"My composition class is the closest I can come to mad psychology, so here we are."

Yeah, that sounds about right.
