When she spoke to me that day she told me she had no pets, she didn't have cats but she used to feed Midge in her garden because Midge would always go there. I don't know WHY she kept doing it even after knowing that she wasn't a stray...
It also dawned on me the other night that when the woman knocked on my door that day, she asked me "Does Midget live here?" ... SHE KNEW MY CATS NAME. She knew enough to know my damn cats name.
While I don't blame her completely for what happened... I do blame her. She had opportunities to let us know. To leave my cat alone. To let us know she wasn't well.
... It also dawned on us just now that she was probably the one who put a collar on my cat! And probably knew Midges name because I took the gross pink collar off and put a different one on
With "THIS IS MIDGET. SHE IS NOT A STRAY. SHE IS OWNED. PLEASE LEAVE HER ALONE" on the collar as well as our address. That collar was gone a few days later...
So many times Midge would come home smelling like perfume and I swore she was being kept by someone. My parents refused to believe it. But when I walked through that woman's home... it smelled exactly like how Midge did.
Omg... That's terrible. She shouldn't have been feeding her. Cats won't venture back home if they're being fed somewhere else... And my cat is the same way with flea stuff. He breaks out. I'm so sorry this woman didn't have sense.
I'm really sorry too. The woman was an idiot. My cat was too for going to her when we were right here. I mean, she'd come back for food occasionally and to sleep.
The day she knocked she actually held up her hands and told me she wasn't trying to steal my cat. But I think she was.
