not at all new. she's a 2013! and her regen requirement got in the way of me shuffling the yard. how rude.

Starfirez: trucks have a filter in their diesel tanks that gets stopped up and when it does you have to stop and let it run a self cleaning process

or not in the tank but connected to it, its supposed to make it spew out less garbage from the exhaust

it's a trucks equivalent of a catalytic converter that gets clogged up, a regen is the truck entering a high idle to raise exhaust temps by a ton to burn away all the soot. trucks that do a lot of short hauls, or are yard tugs like this one, need to regen more often. it's kinda like how everyone should drive their car hard occasionally to help the cat out
