lines from a nightmare i had a few days ago (cw: torture)

"I hate it here! But you, I love you so much."

Spoken loudly by a woman who had undergone extensive torture.

And when I say extensive, I mean she was hung upside down, barely more than bone. I almost wish I could draw a picture.

The nightmare image focused on her spine and pelvis and legs; one leg was broken down to a sharp point of femur.

The image is horrific enough, but I keep going back to "I hate it here!"

She's so profoundly broken that all she can say about the location of her torture, the torture that that brought her well past the point where she should have died, is "I hate it here!"

She person she loves is a distant figure in the background.

I don't have a lot of nightmares? But when I do, they mean BUSINESS.

I woke up from this one after just a few hours of sleep and I stayed the fuck awake. I was terrified of falling back into it.
