so to finish the MSQ to get out of ARR content you have to do the crystal whatsit raid. I hate raiding. In any MMO. This is close to, if not exactly, my ragequit point for this entire game. Everything fun is locked behind tedious, obnoxious bullshit.

to be fair that's why i kept avoiding dungeons but party content in ff14 has been .... blessedly free of shitty player hell, outside that one time a healer was an asshole and ignored everyone

yeah I've honestly only had like two or three raid members be annoying, in my experience pugs are usually just fine

People in the groups have been fine. I have not enjoyed any of the content, at all.

and I don't remember having any particular trouble with the Crystal Tower bit, which was very much Baby's First Raid

This game is giving me a fierce case of dissonance. It feels like it should be exactly my jam and compels me to keep going but everything I actually have to do is just frustrating and tiresome.

oh, cool, it wasn't just the one. It's gonna make me do every single raid before I can proceed.

I am just so very glad I spent days doing endless repeating fetch quests with no exp or gil reward to get to this point.

So very gratifying.
