there's a rash of further cat deaths around the area and we never see any explicit violence because this is a horror built on tension rather than gore

(its rare that a spirit actually does something but when it does it is PRETTY TERRIFYING)

so eventually miko is like actually I WILL do something about the things I see, I'm going to follow the teacher around and get evidence of him being shady

we see a bit of zen sensei's personal life and tbh he does have intense serial killer vibes

anyway shit happens, people get hit by cars,

and it comes out that zen thinks that MIKO is the catkiller

because she wouldn't give him the cat way back when and also because she is honestly kind of a weird kid (because she sees ghosts)

and he is constantly surrounded by dark animal ghosts because he does a lot of rescues and they don't always have happy endings and the guilt of not being able to save every cat is weighing on him

Miko does her thing and tricks the human ghost that killed his very first cat into getting killed by another ghost and then the childhood catghost is able to move on and takes the other catghosts with him

zen moves out to an apartment that allows pets and takes in the cat he got hit by a car saving

and THEN,

we see the guy who has actually been mutilating cats

we see zen walk up behind him as hes bending over a mama cat and her kittens
