the only reason to have children in a war-themed anime is for them to die horribly as either innocents or child soldiers to prove war is hell, I guess is his stance

i don't think GuP uses war as a background. it's more of a sport for them. except they use tanks.
though it does hit the mark on other ones like kancolle. xD

if I'm reading Tomino right, the problem with GuP and Kancolle is they're making war about girls going "pew pew pew" every now and then but it's mostly slice-of-life-it's-not-a-big-deal

I wonder what his opinion on Strike Witches is. For a girl-centered series it does present war far better than GuP and Kancolle
