Compiling my thoughts on events and things

Re: The reward system changes. I'm a bit sad to see the point trade system go, but I totally grok that it could use some streamlining.

Subject_013
That said, I love the idea of the monthly ritual to gain rewards. However, it gets interesting.

Subject_013
First off, Jack eventually wants to get a Spitfire to help run aerial recon (also, Ref just wants to do something with him as a pilot. I mean, he was in the RAF, and I've long wanted to play with that)

Subject_013
Second, when I app him/he gets accepted, Wesker's going to need a ready supply of that serum he depends on to keep his viral load in check.

Subject_013
Neither gent seems keen on religion or things of that nature, so it gets interesting to have them bend a bit in that regard.

Subject_013
(Though Wesker's god complex could be viewed as a kind of contra-religious rebellion, as in "Okay, God, You won't lift a finger to keep humanity from being a hot mess that needs to evolve. Allow me to take over that for You.")

Subject_013
(Also, Jack does consult that little girl with the weird tarot deck...)

Subject_013
This has also lead to some hilarity in headspace as to whether or not the rituals need to be done sky-clad or not. I guess we'll see what said rituals entail when the details go live.

Subject_013
Re: the layers of Deerington getting thinner: Jack's gonna wonder if the above-mentioned weird little sooth-sayer/fortune teller girl is somehow linked to Sodder.

Subject_013
So, I can anticipate him going from Team Sodder to ...not opposing her, but being a bit weirded out by her.

Subject_013
And given that he's... not been the best with kids when the greater good was entailed (see also the 456 incident many years before the events of Children of Earth), this could be a bit of a judgement call.

Subject_013
Orrr, the opportunity to atone for that, by helping free her.

Subject_013
(Allow me to squee about the artwork on the mni-event page??)

Subject_013
(The mods totally lured me in with the Lovecraftiana fan art. Like, some of those pics are literally HPL fanart)

Subject_013
(Say what you will about the Old Gent From Providence as a human, but he certainly has a recognizable visage)

Subject_013
(Yes, I may be taking a step back from Lovecraftiana, due to the latest bout of drama - PM me for the deets -, and to my getting eyebrows-deep in Resident Evil stuff, but... I don't think I'll ever completely abandon it.)

Subject_013
Thoughts on the Mayor: Hoo boy. Jack trusts him about as far as he can throw him.

Subject_013
(One more squee: The HPL art could be by design. First off, Lovecraftian Superpowers, anyone? [Not just tentacles, but a monstrous birth and dreaming])

Subject_013
(Second off, Aitch Pi's birthday is in a week and it's 130 years since the Dreamer of Providence started dreaming, and we all got to share in his mad dreams...)

Subject_013
Going through the Father's door, Jack's gonna be a bit more sympathetic.. Going through the Mayor's Door... Ho boy...

Subject_013
Jack: We're fighting Cthulhu? We're fighting Cthulhu. Someone got a boat we can ran the thing with???

Subject_013
(Back after late lunch and a second walk to get some extra things)

Subject_013
If/when Jack takes part in a visit to the Mayor's House: his Nightmare Dream Guide will be a Resident Evil-esque zombie dog (Mind you, his Dream Guide normally would be a nice friendly dog).

Subject_013
Something like these critters

Subject_013
CW: zombie-ficated dog pics

Subject_013
On to the main event! I'm probably going to tag him out this time.

Subject_013
However.... Love the ghostly singer-lady! (I was very nearly named Allison, so I have an affection for the name)

Subject_013
Taking a pass on the drugs/booze, though I suspect Jack may get ahold of a lemon lollipop at some point (any suggestions on who girl!Jack might have for a PB??)

Subject_013
Once he finds the tents are Bigger On The Inside, he may attempt to steal one (or help someone steal one, provided they allow him a timeshare of it)

Subject_013
Quiet Place monsters, yesssss!

Subject_013
(Funny story, my family saw the movie before I did; our town's library offered a free showing of it, but it fell on the night I was in Providence for the HPL Film Festival)

Subject_013
Jack will be happily blaring swing music at the things. Maybe even electro-swing.

Subject_013
(Because of course, Jack loves electro-swing. The music folks at the Beeb need to use more electro-swing for 'um)

Subject_013
Siren Head: Jack's gonna be a bit geeked by the weird transmissions (shades of that gas mask kid breaking into the radio.... "Are You My Mummy?")

Subject_013
Definitely not having him possessed, but he'd be happy to help someone else who

Subject_013
's performing an exorcism.

Subject_013
I wanna do something with him and Mothman, since that was the first cryptid that really freaked me out as a wee Ref.
