The Strawhat Ronin have a iaijutsu move

Where they sheath their sword, then follow that up with a REALLY fast attack

And I was having trouble dodging it because it's so goddamn fast

But tonight I was like "You know he's not holding a weapon right now."

"What if I just hit him?"

"Instead of trying to wait for it and dodge it"

And it works

Strategy: just walk over there and hit him

oh what?! that's so good to know

I have trouble with them because they're trying to fight you with style and I am also trying to fight them with style but... yeah, don't put your weapon away in the middle of a fight maybe

It's a learning experience

They're definitely one of the hardest regular enemies in the game

I keep trying to play the game with too much style than I should

like, when you Perfect Parry an enemy, you can follow up with a really strong attack, and I would always take a moment during the delay window and switch stances to whatever was effective because I thought you had to do that, and no, no you don't have to do that, just attack them when they're stunned

When the enemy is stunned, all stances are functionally the same

I had absolutely no idea until today...

oh yeah, like

when they're either iaijutsu-ing or holding their sword way the hell up for the head shot

i just wail on strong attacks to break their posture
