Got to talking with mattnificent about it on Discord and we worked out the Anchor/Pilot pairs

Matt: “Souji, Rise, and Teddie are all Anchors, and Kanji, Chie, Yukiko, and Yosuke are all Pilots. Rise and Teddie each have a preferred partner for their team, but Souji is able to work with any Pilot with equal facility”

Anchor and Pilot are skills rather than purely relational so fucking around with who’s anchoring whomst with potentially tragic consequences is fitting.

the stable pairs for most missions are:

• Chie is Driven, anchoring Yukiko, a Devoted Lover
• Rise is Savvy, anchoring Yu, a Carefree Hedonist
• Teddie is Comforting, anchoring Kanji, an Eager Young Soldier
• Yosuke is Tempestuous, anchoring Naoto, a Rising Hero

Depending on how trustworthy we want the Final Adult Authority Figure to be (and the default is “the endgame is shanking him”)...

If we want someone making the best of a bad situation and making an understandable hash of things, it’s Dojima.

If we want a rat bastard man destined to be shot by Naoto, then -
