Anxiety brain things: Feeling like because you're available to do a thing, you should do the thing. Doesn't matter what the thing is.

Toss
For example, when I study, I try to work at most two days a week to not overwhelm myself. But if I've worked two days in a week already (or I just feel too tired to work more in a month or w/e), and then get asked if I can work a shift, I always feel obligated to accept it if I don't have any other obligation on the day of that shift.

Toss
I need to repeat to myself several times that I can turn this down for the sake of rest time.

Toss
BUT it extends to more than just responsibilities like work. It also extends to fun things! My hobbies! I know my friends are playing a multiplayer game together and I'm about? I have to join them even if I was actually going to do something else that I wanted to do.

Toss
And then I feel really guilty about not joining.

Toss
Why are brains like this.

Toss
I know why. I get anxious people will think I'm a bad friend if I don't hang out with them at every opportunity, and then ditch me.
