[covid] rash has spread to my fingers, I exist only to suffer

ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
oh jesus

ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
'are you okay' feels like a dumb question but like

ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
do you have anything that can help

skerple
I took a benadryl, I'm hoping that helps

skerple
I took two yesterday and that, uh, knocked me the fuck out for the whole day

skerple
so, trying just one this time

skerple
I think we also have hydrocortisone cream

skerple
ugh. it's also on the backs of my shoulders, which I can't reach to get cream on

D: I didn’t realize a rash was a symptom

skerple
yup - apparently it's common for people to get itchy skin rashes when fighting off a viral infection, particularly respiratory ones, but enough covid patients have been presenting with the same rash pattern that some are saying it should be considered as a fourth diagnostic symptom

skerple
Skin rash should be considered as a fourth key sign ...

skerple
so far it's definitely been the symptom that's caused me the most actual discomfort

skerple
we all got a mild case, thankfully. the congestion and cough have been very very tolerable for me, like, I've had worse colds

skerple
and the smell/taste loss is annoying, but not actively unpleasant

skerple
itchy rash on my knees and elbows, spreading to my back and hands? THAT can fuck RIGHT off

𝔪𝔢𝔪𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔬💀𝔪𝔬𝔯𝔞𝔶
DX aaaaaa

noah may cry
oh gosh D:

dragillionaire
can you get a family member to spread some of the cortisol on your shoulders for you since you all have it? unless the rash is contagious somehow but I would think not

skerple
yeah I got my mom to help

skerple
god - unrelated to rash but, in a way it's a relief to have caught the covid

skerple
obviously I would not be singing that tune if any of us had a bad case

skerple
but since we all lucked into mild cases, right around the time dad tested positive, it fella kinda like 'oh, good, we're getting it over with'

skerple
(I know we don't know anything yet about long-term immunity)

skerple
*feels, phone pls

i think
oh no

skerple

skerple
hmm, definitely feeling a bit winded in response to even trivial exertion, such as "standing up and preparing food"

dragillionaire
yeah my sister had that really bad

dragillionaire
I mean "bad" but she never had to go to the hospital just like. wow that's kind of concerning

dragillionaire
Please be careful; if it gets any worse than that you might want to seek medical attention

skerple
yeah, I'll keep an eye on it

skerple
I keep getting on-and-off tingling in my fingers too =_=

skerple
like ALMOST pins and needles
