: just over a week ago she tried to jump up on the sofa and fell on her right side, we thought it was her hip. Then on Monday last week, she was yelping in serious pain. Took her to the vet on the 16th and he found it was the muscle on the right side just below the spine, along the ribs.
My Isana is a miniature American Eskimo dog, we figure she's about 14 or 15, mostly blind and almost deaf, her hips are going, and she is living out her life in the most comfort I can provide.
The mix is very interesting to deal with the Jack Russell is high energy, but the Cairn is a little more relaxed and they bond with one human of the pack. I am that human, her end all be all. She will spend hours in my lap and yelps up a storm when I come home from the store.
We are glad she is doing better as well. We were afraid of spine issues. Our dog Moixe had a pinched disk and lost the use of her rear legs for a few days, that was stressful and 1 month of kennel rest, no steps, no jumping, etc. so we knew the drill for Honey's recovery. Moxie was a laid back Lhasa Poodle mix so it was easier.

: Moxie was with us for 10 years, she made it to about 13 years old until her kidneys gave out. That was a sad time, but she did make it to Oregon when we were neighborhood shopping in December of 2014.
