[ameripol-ish] just a cute little story about my mom

but my dad and I told her about all the gen z kids buying out the tickets to the tulsa rally and she got real happy about it

because apparently she's been telling my dad for a while that they should do that. get tickets to trump rallies then not show up as a fuck you to trump

anyway it was real adorable to see my mom's heart warmed by good gen z kids

(I also argued with my dad about the increase in gun violence incidents in minneapolis but I did finally get to a point where I feel like he understands white privilege a bit more)

tho that's always been an...ongoing conversation because dad grew up really poor so every time I try to talk to him about white privilege he's like "but I had it so hard!"

but i used the headwind/tailwind metaphor from our juneteenth speakers and work and i think he got it

then we just talked economy and how he thinks private companies that provide essential goods and services shouldn't pay dividends to investors and honestly now that I think about you would think it'd be easier to get dad on my side with the class divide vs the race divide since he's experienced it first hand

maybe that will be my next pet project. make dad socialist
