[pash's pet peeves] I hate cute sounding words that actually mean terrible things most of the time and are used almost never positively.

Yes, I'm talkin about the word: simp

Mostly because I know it from it's use in hip-hop, meaning a dude too into an unworthy girl to be healthy. (often used by assholes to insult other dudes for being attached to women for ANYTHING but sex.)

Now it's just a rallying cry to shame dudes that ever paid a sexy lady twitch streamer or even a sex worker.

There's also another word I don't really like but that's a more debatable thing and honestly it's not in my lane to criticize it.

Never liked it either, though I've heard it used to describe quiet, soft-spoken, not exactly alpha males.

I mean I'm not surprised at this associative network around the word

pretty sure it resonates with the 2010 or whenever it was notion of "friendzoned" as meaning "being a guy with weak-willed and slavish devotion to a girl who isn't interested but takes advantage of him because he isn't a strong alpha male" rather than just... someone who is seen only as a friend
