For a general favorite critter, probably (dinosaur) raptors. They've always kind of symbolized for me the counter to the cultural perception of dinosaurs as big dumb lizards, which I have never been into.

(Shira and I actually talk about this on a regular basis, her childhood perception of dinosaurs vs. mine.)

I also tend to prefer more agile, gracile predators over bulkier ones, which is why I like cheetahs better than lions, too.

I feel like this is probably tied up in a social dominance/social underdog thing but I'm having trouble teasing out exactly what's going on in my head there
