Repurposing this because Cece's tag made me wonder: I don't remember if it was ever touched on, but did Toshinori choose his appearance as All Might, or is it just how the Quirk reacted to his desires/sense of justice?

Because Deku doesn't change appearance at all when he activates the Quirk, but there's a big contrast between Toshinori and All Might- and he takes advantage of that to keep his identities separate

Izuku doesn't change appearance, but All Might doesn't get the colored lightning effect

maybe it works different for different users?

it being a mental thing could explain it, since Izuku does think of OFA as energy

Yeah, it being different for different users makes the most sense to me

Toshinori also took to the strength part naturally, but he didn't connect to the past users at all, so the changes to his body reflect that

some of toshinori's appearance without ofa is because of his injury too. when he was a kid in some flashbacks he looked fairly normal. it could be that ofa was keeping him bulked up as he would have been normally

Early Career All Might is also pretty damn buff, so that makes sense
