even in the best of times, i've gotten pretty sick and tired of marketing's social engineering, and yes, they ARE going to lean in on this.

I keep thinking this! We literally stopped the world (or 75% of us did) to save our fellow human beings! We are capable of big things. We could fix all this. We could!

this is why i keep saying that i don't think things will actually change for the better. we are being given an opportunity here, i think we are going to let this one pass us by too.

not because we don't want to. but because we are far too easily led as a collective noun, and a small number of people want it and know how to lead the collective.

I was given hope by our governor's last update. He formed this council to bring our state back, and he said...."we're going to fix stuff. Fix things that should have been fixed long ago. We don't move forward unless we all move forward." I confess it gave me hope. So we'll see.

also I'm paraphrasing, I can't remember exactly what he said.

yeah, i mean, i hope it happens? but far too often the promises are empty. i have more faith in him fixing some of this shit in our state than i do in it happening on a larger scale.

yeah me too, I have hope for here but, larger scale not so much.

I like this slowed down world better than the crazy, crowded, loud world from before, but I don't like the deaths that had to happen. I'm gonna miss the empty highways and cleaner air when it's gone.
